Investigators seize gun, drugs in undercover operation

HOGANSVILLE, Ga. — On Monday, criminal and narcotics investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover operation targeting a suspected drug dealer from Coweta County. Arrested without incident was Schaffery Rosser, 39, and Taylor Mauldin, 24, both of Newnan, Ga.
Rosser has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession with Ecstasy with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of drug-related objects. Mauldin has been charged with possession of methamphetamine. According to investigators, Rosser was in possession of 160 Ecstasy pills.
Additional charges are possible.
Sheriff’s office reports
LaFAYETTE — Two people were arrested in Chambers County on Monday. According to Chambers County Sheriff’s Office reports,
› Terry Smith, 31, of LaFayette has been charged with failure to appear in court to answer charges of obstructing justice and using a false identity, and
› Felix Bernard Hicks, 49, of Valley has been charged with a probation violation.
There were 164 inmates in the Chambers County jail Tuesday morning.
Valley reports
VALLEY — One person was arrested in Valley on Monday. According to Valley Police Department reports,
› Billy Jerome Jackson, 54, of Valley has been charged with public intoxication.
In incidents being investigated by Valley officers, domestic violence, third degree (harassing communications) was reported on the 1800 block of Crest Club Circle and theft of property, fourth degree, was reported on the 1300 block of Mapp Road.
West Point reports
WEST POINT — An incident of criminal damaged to property, second degree, was reported in West Point on Monday. According to a West Point Police Department report, the incident took place on Avenue N.
