Old Man Summer has come home to roost

Good afternoon Huguley residents and whoever might be reading this.
I have to say I really do believe old man summer has come home to roost.
Personally, I was glad to see a little moisture these past few days.
As everybody knows we are getting really close to the deadline for getting yourselves registered to vote in this upcoming election of June 5.
If you haven’t already taken care of that it’s time you need to do it.
You can register online. You can come by the office at the annex or the office in LaFayette and get an application and get registered that way if you like.
I know there are folks having voter drives to get people registered as well.
All I can say about voting is if you don’t vote and you don’t like the way the election goes, then you can’t complain. Make your vote count.
I hope you had a great Mother’s Day this past weekend. I sure did.
After church we went to Lake West Point to spend some time with Lindy and her family.
After a couple hours on the water up there we then went to Tammy’s and spent some time sitting around the pool down there visiting.
Quiet time with family—love it!
Memorial Day is next weekend. Find something to do outside if you can.
Don’t forget the real reason it exists. It isn’t just a day for picnicking and being off work.
Memorial Day, or Decoration Day, is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces.
Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May.
So get those flags outside and fly them proudly.
As a word of caution to all of you that are on the roads, I’d like to share this. Traffic can be great; flowing smoothly carrying you wherever you need to get to. Or, without notice, it can become a snarling mess, gridlocked into a labyrinth that seems never to offer escape.
My advice to you if you get into that type of mess is this. Remember wise words my mama used to say to us. Never miss an opportunity to go potty.
Squeeze –something will happen. In a bad situation on the interstate highways… this could be a lifesaver! You might never have to jump a guardrail to head to the bushes!
I hope you have gotten your little garden into the ground. I am seeing tomatoes going into flower pots for patio tomatoes. Great idea if you don’t have a plot to plant.
If you have special events to share, please consider getting in touch with a correspondent. We’d love to hear from you. Call me at 706-773-6550. See ya!
