Traffic jams aren’t unusual in downtown West Point, especially when the long CSX freight trains rumble through town, but there was one that was a bit unusual this past Saturday afternoons.
Rather than trucks and cars on the downtown streets, it was kayaks on the Chattahoochee River.
An event organized by Chattahoochee Ricverkeeper was a huge success with some 130 kayakers taking part.
GLL Outdoors helped to make it a fun day by having boat rentals and running a shuttle service from downtown to Hardley Creek Park, just below West Point Dam.
