Mrs. Annie “Bea” Vickers

VALLEY — Mrs. Annie “Bea” Vickers, 92, of Valley, Ala. passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Vickers was born on December 29, 1925 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late John Russell Foster and Cora Freeman Foster.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph David Vickers and her son, Barry David Vickers.
Mrs. Vickers was a very witty person with a wonderful sense of humor.
She enjoyed buying and selling antiques, mostly acquired from yard sales that she frequented each weekend. She also had a passion for decorating, especially during the holiday season. Christmas was her favorite time of the year to decorate the home. She had an extensive doll collection that she had acquired over the years and often displayed her dolls at the library and local clubs, where she spoke to those in attendance about her collection.
She loved spending time with family, hosting family dinners, and long weekends at her house. Later in life, she enjoyed spending time on her porch enjoying nature.
She is survived by her daughters, Cora (Ronnie) Smith, Valley; Gena Vickers Montalbano, Valley; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 2 p.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley with interment following in Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Elliott will officiate. Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. EDT until the time of the service.
Flowers will be accepted or the family suggests that memorials be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
