Mrs. Frances H. Fant

LaFAYETTE — Mrs. Frances H. Fant, 91, of LaFayette, Ala. died Wednesday June 20, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Fant was born in Chambers County on April 30, 1927 to the late Walter Lee Hill and the late Bessie Lee Barber Hill.

She was a lifelong member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, serving as Sunday School Superintendent, song leader, Sunday school teacher and custodian. She operated Frances’ Beauty Shop in White Plains for many years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and working in her flower garden. Mrs. Fant was a gregarious person, loving all her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Olin G. (Charlie) Fant.

She is survived by her sons, Gregg Farrar of LaFayette and Randall (Phyllis) Fant of Dadeville, Ala., her brother-in-law, Hilson (Linda) Lisenby of LaFayette and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Of special mention in the life of Frances are the two caregivers that were with her at her death, Joy Morgan and Floy Taylor, both of Roanoke, Ala. The family would like to express their thanks to the hospice team that also provided care for Frances.

Funeral services were held at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church on Friday June 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. CDT with burial in the church cemetery with the Rev. Wally Armstrong officiating.  Pallbearers were Curtis Adams, Johnny Dodgen, Chris Ison, Richard Sheppard, Robbie Pledger and Leon Weathers. The honorary pallbearers were Walter Benefield, Felton Langley, Stanley Stephens and Henson Farrar.
