LaFAYETTE — Mrs. Louise Morgan, 86, of LaFayette, Alabama died Friday June 22, 2018 at the East Alabama Medical Center.
Mrs. Morgan was born in Lanett, Alabama September 2, 1931 to the late Lester Louis Hamby and the late Mildred Lou Crenshaw Hamby. She was born and raised in Chambers County, married a Tallapoosa County man who carried her to Tallapoosa County and was excited to move back to Chambers County in January of 1965 when her husband, James C. Morgan, Sr., became the Police Chief for the City of LaFayette.
She dedicated her life to raising her children and was known by the family for her banana puddings. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of LaFayette. She loved her church and her Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held Sunday June 24, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. CT at the First Baptist Church with burial to follow at the LaFayette City Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Ferguson and the Rev. Bill Hand officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. CT at the church prior to the service.
She is survived by her five children: James C. Morgan, Jr. (Glenda) of Opelika, Al., Faye Ford (Don) of Opelika, Al., Randy Morgan (Emmie) of LaFayette, Al., Pam Hadaway (Jeff) of LaFayette, Al., Russell Morgan (Tanya) of Buckhead, Ga.; brother-Eddie Gene Hamby of Auburn, Al.; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sheriff James C. Morgan Sr.; brothers, Louis Hamby and Henry Lee Hamby; and sister, Mary Sue Crowder; and a great-grandchild Benji Ferrell.
