Mrs. Sarah Frances Reed

WEST POINT — Sarah Frances Palmer Reed passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018.
She as born September 12, 1934 to the late Henry Palmer, Sr. and Mary Sarah Palmer in West Point, Ga.
She graduated from Tenth Street High School, Class of 1954.
“SaSa”/“Aunt Sa,” as she was known by many, united with Bethlehem Baptist Church of West Point where she served in many capacities.
She was previously employed by the Colored Cab Company, Whitley’s Steakhouse, Woody Woodruff, and Bill and Pat Parr.
Survivors include three children: Melissa (Kervin) Woods, David (Tandra) Reed, Jr., and Tiara Woodyard; the daughter she gained, Jean Gilliam Godfrey; eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandson; five sisters-in-law: Ethel (Warner) Bankston, Lula (Donald) Gilliam, Edith Brewer, Hattie Jones, and Ola Reed; two god-daughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, relatives, friends, her beloved church family and her doggy, Baby Cookie.
The service will be Friday at 2 p.m. EDT at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Dr. W. T. Edmondson
will officiate. Burial will follow at Marseilles Cemetery.
The family will be at their home at 702 Avenue I, in West Point.
