Lanett reports

LANETT — One person was arrested in Lanett on Monday. According to Lanett Police Department reports,

› Willie Rufus Billingslea, 52, of Lanett has been charged with bail jumping, second degree.

In incidents being investigated by Lanett officers, someone making terroristic threats was reported on the 100 block of North 1st Avenue, domestic violence, third degree, and theft of property, fourth degree, were reported on the 1100 block of South Gilmer Avenue, assault, second degree, was reported on the 1800 block of 23rd Street SW and theft of property, fourth degree, was reported on the 1400 block of South Gilmer Avenue.

Valley reports

VALLEY — One person was arrested in Valley on Monday. According to Valley Police Department reports,

› Byron Ray Chapman, 25, of Roanoke, Ala. has been charged with public intoxication.

In incidents being investigated by Valley officers, theft of property, fourth degree, was reported on the 3000 block of 20th Avenue and a juvenile attempted to elude a police officer.

West Point reports

WEST POINT — Officers with the West Point Police Department are investigating several incidents that were reported Monday. They include criminal damage to property reported on Avenue C, simple assault on Spruce Street, criminal trespassing on West 15th Street and simple battery on East 12th Street.

Sheriff’s office reports

LaFAYETTE — A 33-year-old Valley man who was arrested this past Friday in Ridge Grove faces nine charges in Chambers County in addition to multiple charges he has against him in other counties. Justin E. Hill was taken into custody after leading deputies on a foot chase, and after allegedly stealing an ATV, a vehicle chase.

According to Sheriff’s Office reports, Hill attempted to lose deputies in pursuit by leading them on a chase around a house. He instead collided with a patrol car that was waiting for him when he made it all the way around the other side.

For the Friday incident, Hill faces charges of theft of property, first degree, burglary, third degree, two counts of attempting to elude law enforcement, criminal trespassing, first degree, assault,  first degree, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.

Hill is wanted in Randolph County, Ala. for the manufacture of a controlled substance, in Baldwin County, Ala. for possession of dangerous drugs and in Harris County, Ga. for a probation violation – larceny.

Deputies converged on the area last Friday after receiving a call that Hill had been spotted in the Ridge Grove area. A foot chase ensued not long after the car he was believed to be traveling in was located behind a house on County Road 471.

During the chase, Hill managed to steal someone’s ATV and attempted escape that way but was rapidly cornered.

On Tuesday morning, Hill was among 166 inmates in the Chambers County jail.
