LANETT — Registration for math and reading tutoring will take place at 5 p.m. EDT on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 5 and 6 at the L.B. Sykes Community Center on Cherry Drive in Lanett.
“Free math and reading tutoring will be provided to students in grades three through six,” said Trudye Johnson. “This is not a drop-in program. Students are assigned a time with a retired teacher or professional to improve their math or reading skills on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Middle and high school students may also request an assigned tutoring time.”
Please bring the student’s last progress report to registration. For more information call Lionel Johnson (706) 645-9419 or Dr. Rose Wood (706) 518-4701.
This program is sponsored by the Goodsell Education and Enrichment Program, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Classes start on Wednesday, Sept. 12 and will continue every Wednesday and Thursday until the Christmas season,
Teachers include Dr. Rose Wood, Lionel Johnson, Trudye Johnson, Reiko Williams, Kay Billingsley, Jeanette Perry and Franklin Stiggers.
“We will probably take 30 students this fall,” Trudye Johnson said. “Most of the children we work with are between eight and twelve years of age. By appointment, we do tutor junior high and high school age students.”
