VALLEY — Mrs. Lavada Pearl Cannon “Sis” Daniel, 83, a resident of Valley, Ala. passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Lanier Nursing Home in Valley.  Funeral services were held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 3 p.m. EDT from Johnson Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark McGee officiating.  Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett, AL.  Visitation took place Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. EDT at the funeral home.

Mrs. Daniel is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frank H. Daniel; five children, Roy Daniel (Betty Joyce), Harold Daniel (Sherry), Lorene Daniel, Debbie Daniel, and Ronald Daniel (Melissa); seven grandchildren, Lou Buckner (Jody), Chad Daniel (Ashley), Patti Rowe (John), Josh Daniel, Shannon Daniel (Aaron), Jamie Mathis (Makayla), and Beth Mathis; 13 great-grandchildren, Hailey Buckner, Jacob, Luke, Noah, and Jana Daniel, Dillon and Logan Smith, Wyatt and Alexis Rowe, Skylar and Starlet Hester, Allen and Shelby Mathis; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Bessie Cannon; her son, Charlie Daniel; grandchildren, Patrick Prestridge and Brad Daniel;  her sister, Allie Lee Cannon; and brothers, James, Arsie Doard, Grady and Ocie Cannon.

She was born in West Point, Ga. on April 21, 1935.  She was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church in Opelika.  Her family remembers her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law.
