West Point reports

WEST POINT  — In incidents that were reported on Tuesday, West Point police officers are investigating reports of battery on Highway 18 and criminal trespassing and burglary on East 12th Street.

Sheriff’s office reports

LaFAYETTE — Four people were arrested in Chambers County on Tuesday. According to Chambers County Sheriff’s Office reports,

› Chavis Story, 34, of Valley has been charged with a probation violation;

› Bartless Vines, 31, of Lanett has been charged with failure to appear in court to answer a charge of speeding;

› Richard Johns, 24, of West Point, Ga. has been charged with being a fugitive from justice, and

› Adrian Smith Jr., 28, of Atlanta, Ga. has been charged with possession of marijuana, second degree.

A total of 158 inmates were in the Chambers County jail Wednesday morning.

LaFayette reports

LaFAYETTE — One person was arrested in LaFayette on Tuesday. According to LaFayette Police Department reports,

› Peggy Kate Phillips, 28, was charged with two counts of menacing.

LaFayette officers are investigating reports of harassment at the Hilltop Apartments and negotiating a worthless instrument (bad check) on LaFayette Street North.
