› The 10th Anniversary Chambers County Outdoor & Wild Game Expo will be held Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT at LaFayette Heights Baptist Church Family Life Center, 1200 Highway 77 North, LaFayette. A drawing will be held for a turkey gun. Guest Speaker will be Scott Dawson.

› The fourth annual Food Drive for the Christian Service Center will be taking place on Saturday, Sept. 29th across from Capital City Bank and next to CharterBank in Valley. Sponsored by women from the First Baptist Church of Shawmut, the event will be taking place from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. EDT. Please bring food items. This is a great ministry for Valley families. › Chambers County Library Travelers has open registration for an excursion to Georgia’s Andersonville Historic Fair & Civil War Reenactment on Oct 6. The cost is $32 and includes motor coach transportation, the festival’s parade and reenactment activities, and the National P.O.W. museum. › The Chambers County Forestry Landowners will have their planning meeting at the Farmers Federation building in LaFayette at 6 p.m. CDT (7 p.m. Eastern time) on Thursday, October 11, 2018.

› The Touched by Suicide Support Group will meet Monday, October 1st at 5:30 p.m. CDT (6:30 Eastern) at the EAMC Health Education Center, located at 2027 Peppered Parkway (across the street from the hospital). This is an informal group made up of caring individuals whose lives have been touched by the suicide of a family member or friend. › The Chambers County School District is currently seeking to locate, identify, and evaluate children with disabilities from birth to age 21. Eligible participants for special services may include those with hearing, visual, orthopedic, speech and language impairments, as well as children with intellectual, emotional, or learning disabilities and other health impairments.
