WEST POINT – A West Point woman has been arrested on several warrants related to physical threats made against another woman.

On Thursday, Oct. 25, Brenyatta Symone Davidson, 28, of West Point was arrested on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, obstruction of an officer and giving a false name to an officer.

According to West Point Police Captain Robert Fawley, the charges stemmed from two different incidents, the first of which happened on Oct. 9.

“The officers initially had a call to 10th St. and Avenue I in reference to two females arguing,” Fawley said. “They couldn’t locate them because both parties had left. The officers located the complaining party at Dollar General.”

The victim told police that after she got into a verbal altercation with Davidson, she left to go to Dollar General with her son.

Once there, she told police that Davidson came into the store, shouting obscenities. Fawley said that the victim tried to leave with her son, only to be followed by Davidson. This was the basis for the stalking charge.

“When [the victim] left, [Davidson] followed her outside and threatened to cut her with a box cutter-style knife,” Fawley said. “She told her she would cut her throat.”

Although the threats were never acted on, Fawley explained that Davidson was charged with assault because of the present threat brought on by the weapon.

Davidson and the victim allegedly had a history of altercations as well as, according to Fawley, there was a similar incident 11 years ago.

“The story goes a bit back because back in 2007, Davidson was arrested for cutting [her],” he said.

Davidson’s charges of obstruction and giving a false name to an officer come from an incident in February of 2016.

“She was stopped for a traffic violation,” Fawley said. “She gave the officer a fake name and when he was in his vehicle running her information, she jumped out of her vehicle and fled from him.”

Warrants were issued at that time but Davidson wasn’t arrested on them until the Thursday arrest.
