McKENZIE — A 54-7 blowout win over the McKenzie Tigers is just what the Beulah Bobcats wanted to see going into the postseason.

After a first half of touchdowns from starters Lonzie Portis, Caden Dowdell and K.C. Moore to get out to an early lead of 33-0, the Bobcats played the second unit for majority of the second half, only allowing a late score from the Tigers to avoid the shut out.

Chris Person led all rushers with 100 yards. Sophomore backup quarterback Caleb Abney threw for 26 yards and a touchdown.

For the first time since 1995, the Bobcats are hosting a playoff game next Friday night against Thomasville, another team that was 7-2 heading into Thursday.
