LaFAYETTE – A shooting in LaFayette Monday night has left one man injured, according to the LaFayette Police Department.

At approximately 7:25 p.m., the police department received a call regarding a black man who had suffered a gunshot wound near the Hilltop Apartments in LaFayette.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 19-year-old man who had been shot.

The man was taken to the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The police say there are several unknown suspects, and some suspects were seen driving away from the area in a silver vehicle.

Police said is an ongoing investigation and no other information was known as of 3 p.m. Wednesday.
