LANETT — Mr. Albert L. Washington, a.k.a. “Tip” and “Sweet Al,” a resident of Lanett, Ala., died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 at Bethany House in Auburn, Ala.  Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018 at 12 noon from Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Lamar D. Johnson, pastor of Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church of Lanett, officiating.  Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Lanett. Davis Memorial Mortuary is directing.  Public viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018 from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.

Mr. Washington’s survivors include his siblings, Nina Heard, Valley, Herbert “Fish” Heard, Christopher Heard and Lamar Washington, all of Lanett, Ala.; grandmother Lula Mae Washington, Lanett; two aunts, Annie Lou Heard and Ethel Winston, both of Lanett; two great-uncles, J. G. Goss and Robert (Mattie) Goss, both of Lanett; nieces Corinthian “Shay” (Marcus) Gables, Montgomery, Ala.; Tyesha Ferrell and LaShanta Wallace, both of Valley; Bobbie Finley, Barbara Finley, Sabrina Finley and Olivia Varner, all of Lanett;  nephews Calvin Finley and Courtney McCullough, both of Lanett; special cousins Betty Winston, Lanett, and Patricia Huguley, West Point, Ga. and a host of other relatives and friends.  Online condolences can be expressed at www.davismemorialmortuary.com,
