BEULAH — The Valley High School girls basketball team ran over Beulah in a 55-19 win on Thursday night. The Bobcats have dealt with multiple injuries to key players since the start of the season, and are down to having seven healthy players on the roster.

“I think we played hard, not having that many bodies, we just got tired, as expected,” Beulah girls head basketball coach Sabrina Milligan said. “Once your mind gets tired, your body gets tired. We just have to play through that. I was pleased with the effort. We didn’t get the result we wanted, but we tried. Until we get tired, when we get tired, we begin to just stand around a little bit.”

Valley forward Ana Magby led all scorers in the game with 24 points in the win.

All eight Rams who played on Thursday night got on the board.

In contrast to Valley, Beulah only had three players score, as Kensley Taylor led the way with 9 points, Danielle Williams had 8 points and Sydney Knight added 2 points.

Taylor entered the season as the Bobcats’ senior leader, but her number has been called on even more after the team’s injuries. Milligan’s advice to her was simple.

“Get some rest,” Milligan said. “Don’t get hurt. She is our leader. Our scoring leader, ball-handling leader, assist leader and we tend to feed off of her. As long as she plays hard, I’m happy.”

Beulah returns to action tonight on the road at Comer, while Valley returns home to face Bullock County.
