Five Points man arrested for burglary

LaFAYETTE – A Five Points man was arrested in LaFayette, along with two juveniles from LaFayette, for multiple charges including burglary and robbery, according to the LaFayette Police Department Friday.

Robert Victor Houston Jr., 18, was taken into custody without incident by police with the assistance of the Chamber County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the two juveniles.

At about 5:30 p.m., on Dec. 12, police arrived at the Jenkins Apartments for a burglary and a robbery. Upon arriving, officers found a victim suffering from minor injuries. Police learned three males forcibly entered an apartment, armed with a handgun and demanded money.

On Dec. 13, Houston and the two juveniles were identified in connection with the crime by the LaFayette Investigations Division.

Arrest warrants were obtained for burglary first degree, robbery first degree, assault third and theft of property fourth degree.

Houston and the 16-year-old male, who will be charged as an adult, were transported to the Chambers County Detention Facility. The 15-year-old male was transported to the Lee County Youth Detention Center. All three suspects remain in custody as of Friday.
