The Lanett Police Department is searching for a man who robbed the Metro PCS store on South Gilmore Avenue on Saturday.

According to a Lanett Police Department press release, employees told police that a black male wearing a dark colored sweatshirt with a hood and mask entered the store. The man was armed with a handgun and went behind the counter where two employees were standing, forcing them to lay on the ground.

The suspect then ordered both employees to the back of the business where the safe was located. He took an undisclosed amount of money from the safe and left the business. It is unclear if he fled on foot or in a vehicle.
