Chambers County employees not paid due to technological error

LaFAYETTE — Chambers County employees didn’t receive a paycheck this week due to computer problems at the county level.

Regina Chambers, Chambers County manager, said all employees in every department of the county didn’t get paid this past week. She cited technological issues within the county and employees in the IT department are working on it as of Friday.

Chambers said the county started having problems on Monday and that’s when the IT department was contacted. She said crews have been restoring files and working with the payroll department ensure everything was in order.

Chambers said there isn’t any update to when the problem will be fixed, but the county is continually working on it. She said there isn’t anybody to blame for the error.

“It’s nobody’s fault,” Chambers said. “We are in a technological era, and we have no idea when these types of things are going to happen.”
