LaFAYETTE — Mr. Johnny Taylor Sr., 66, of LaFayette passed away on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, 1 p.m. CST at Antioch Baptist Church in LaFayette with the Rev. Calvin Marshall, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Taylor is survived by two sons, Johnny Taylor Jr. of Montgomery and Travis Brewer of Phenix City; Jamal Patterson, whom he raised as a son; two goddaughters, Helen Black and Tanisha Cammon, of LaFayette; a special part of his life, Shirley Sims; six sisters, Christina (Vonroyce) Trimble of Opelika, Dorothy Holloway, Johnnie Mae (Richard) Ware, Minnie Holloway (James Woody), Willie Mae Thomas and Mattie (J.C.) Woody, all of LaFayette; four brothers, Dennis (Diane) Holloway, Clanton Holloway (Elizabeth Foreman), Jeffery Holloway (Theresa Bonner) and Billy (Christine) Holloway, all of LaFayette; an aunt, Mary Julia Page of Atlanta, Ga.; nine grandchildren, three great­ grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
