Mr. Valentino James

ATLANTA, Ga. — Mr. Valentino, (a.k.a. Jonas) James, a resident of Atlanta, Ga. and former resident of Valley, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 at Piedmont Healthcare, Atlanta.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. EST from Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Opelika, Ala. with Pastor Wendell Jones Sr. officiating.  Interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery.  Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley is directing.

Mr. James was a life-long member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church and a graduate of Valley High School.

His survivors include his loving wife, Charesse James; two children, Kristian V. (Elizabeth) James and Stephan D. (Jennifer) James; two children from the heart, Ashley N. (Todd) Noyes and Steven T. Buffi; one grandchild; sisters Kim Dooley, Yolanda James Carter, Jacqueline Ramsey, Mary (Willie) Phillips, Connie (Mike) Moore, Virginia Floyd and Regina Jeffery; brothers Leroy (India) James Jr., Edward James, Victor (Kim) Floyd, Michael Floyd, James (Gloria) Floyd, Terrance Jeffery and Tracy Farrow; parents-in-law Ritchie and Barbara Buffi; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law, and, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Online condolences can be expressed at www.davismemorialmortuary.com.
