Valley man arrested on sexual abuse charges

A Valley man has been arrested on sexual abuse charges and is accused of inappropriately touching a woman who was looking for an apartment, according to the Valley Police Department.
Julian Brent Wood, 35, has been charged with sexual abuse first, a Class C felony and unlawful imprisonment second, a Class C misdemeanor.
According to a news release, Wood was helping the woman with an application for an apartment complex on Tuesday when he allegedly grabbed her from behind and started touching her inappropriately in her chest and groin.
The woman told police that she repeatedly told the suspect no and tried to get away. She said Wood became distracted, and she was eventually able to get away and leave the complex.
On Thursday, Wood willingly went to the Valley Police Department and spoke to detectives. According to police, Wood admitted that he did touch the victim. At that point, he was arrested.
The police declined to name the specific apartment complex when asked Friday.
Wood was processed and then transported to the Chambers County Detention Facility where he will have a bond hearing.
