VALLEY — A single-wide trailer has been deemed a total loss after a fire on River Road in Valley Monday night, according to the East Alabama Fire Department.

Deputy Fire Chief Kerry Pickard said firefighters were called to the residence within the mobile home park at 1500 River Road at about 10 p.m. He said crews were at the residence for about an hour and contained the fire quickly and didn’t endanger other structures.  Pickard said nobody was home at the time of the fire and only one person lived at the residence. He said the fire started in the living and probably came from a space heater.

There were no injuries to any persons or animals, he said.
