Getting drugs off the street as important as ever

On Thursday and Friday, three drug busts took place within Chambers County. Altogether over two days,w nine people were arrested by the Chambers County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force for drug possession and other charges.
We applaud the police work in these cases, which helps rid our streets and neighborhoods of drugs.
Getting drugs like marijuana and methamphetamine off the street helps lower crime and in turn makes Chambers County a safer place to live.
Two of the three drug busts took place in Valley and the third was in LaFayette. All were via search warrants performed by the drug task force.
These drug arrests also come on the heels of a drug raid in Valley on Feb. 7, where six others were arrested.
“It’s good to get these drugs out of the area, just because of the safety concern, said Major Mike Reynolds with the Valley Police Department on the day of that arrest. “We have reports every year of people overdosing and dying because of drugs. A lot of our criminal activity is also tied to the drug trade.”
Thanks to outstanding law enforcement work our streets are a little safer and more drug free than before.
