Mr. Ellis Fletcher Redmond and Mrs. Dorothy Camp Redmond

VALLEY — Mr. Ellis Fletcher Redmond, resident of Valley, Ala., born Dec. 31, 1924, to Ellis and Chessie Redmond in Five Points, Ala., died Saturday Jan. 26, 2019, in Honesdale, Pa. 

He was preceded in death by sisters, Katherine Tabor, Lucille Morton and Mary Francis Hayes.  He is survived by his son, Ellis Redmond, and daughter, Jane (Paul) Ott. 

Mrs. Dorothy Camp Redmond, resident of Valley, Ala., born Aug. 12, 1933, to Ellis and Lorene Camp in Cedartown, Georgia, died Thursday Jan. 31, 2019, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Fletcher Redmond; her sister, Margie Ruth Underwood, and brother, Larry Camp.  She is survived by daughter Catherine (Stan Russell) Hutcheson and son, Charles Hutcheson.

Fletcher and Dorothy are also survived by loving grandchildren, Mark Hutcheson Davis, Ellison (Whitney) Redmond, Clinton (Jamie Severson) Ott, Redmond Ott, Elizabeth (Cullen) Dansby, and great grandson Mason Redmond.

Their life together was filled with love, dedication to service to their church, and spreading faith and hope to those their lives touched.  Fletcher was a veteran of World War II and a former prisoner of war. 

His occupation was watchmaker and jeweler, owning a jewelry store in Florida.  Dorothy was a dedicated nurse working in multiple states over the course of her life.  They were both faithfully involved in ministry in their retirement years and continued to bless family and friends throughout their lives.

Memories of lives well lived for both will be treasured.

Interment for both Fletcher and Dorothy will take place at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Alabama at a date to be announced later.  Family and friends will be welcome at the ceremony.
