Mr. Harvey Gene Thrower

BEULAH — Mr. Harvey Gene Thrower, 73, a resident of Beulah passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at the Bethany House Hospice in Auburn, Ala. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. EST Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, from the Ridge Road Baptist Church, located on Lee Road 390, Opelika, with the Rev. Harvey Miller and the Rev. Allen Howard officiating. 

Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Thrower was born in Smiths Station on Nov. 5, 1945, the son of the late John and Clara White Thrower.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lamar and Thomas Thrower. He is survived by his loving wife, Wandra Thrower; siblings James and Billy Thrower; daughter Sandy Miller (Brian); son Ricky Thrower (Paige); five grandchildren, Dustin Hill (Hannah), Emily Miller, Harley Thomaston (Seth), Dalton Thrower and Tucker Thrower and three great-grandchildren, Asa Hill, McKenzie and Rhett Thomaston.

Mr. Thrower worked for the WestPoint Stevens Fairfax Mill for 42 years. After his retirement, he was the manager of the Sam’s Club Fuel Center in Auburn. 

Mr. Thrower loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also liked to race cars, hunt, and fish.
