The Georgia State Patrol LaGrange office has confirmed that a fatal wreck occurred on Interstate 85 Southbound Thursday morning.

According to GSP, a tractor-trailer hit and killed a pedestrian on I-85 near mile marker one in West Point. GSP was dispatched to the scene at 8:05 a.m.

No other information is available at this time.

The Georgia Department of Transportation said in a Facebook post Thursday that all lanes of traffic were blocked. GDOT estimated the time of clearance at 10:30 a.m.
