AUBURN — Christopher Shawn Nix, 31, of Auburn passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services are being held at the Johnson Brown Funeral Home chapel in Valley on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 2 p.m. EDT. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.  Brother Doug Blackmon will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Levi Templeton, Will Langley, David Philpott, Todd Striblin, Shea Templeton, and Tim Sanders.

Chris was full of life, could make you laugh and was a free spirit always. He loved in his own special way and always had his way of showing it.

Chris was a 2005 graduate of Valley High School. He proudly marched in the Valley High Pride marching band playing his “pride and joy” tuba.

Chris was an avid Auburn Tigers Football fan. He was most recently employed as a store manager at Dollar General.

He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Chris is survived by Lauren Nix, Jean Nix, Sherry Bryant and Kate Templeton.  He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Nix; grandparents Robert and Catherine Nix and Ralph and Colie Daniel.
