VALLEY — Mr. Julius Banks, 73, of Valley passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019, 1 p.m. CST at Pine Grove United Methodist Church in LaFayette, Ala. with Pastor Cecelia Broome officiating, The Rev. George McCulloh with serve as the eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Banks is survived by his wife, Charlie Mae Banks of Opelika;  a stepson, Harold Fitzpatrick of Opelika; two sisters, Ruby Askew of Roanoke and Maxine Perry of Cleveland, Ohio; two cousins who were like sisters, Mary Jo Meadows and  Minnie B. Williams, both of LaFayette; nieces Vanessa Askew of Roanoke, Lasha Holloway of Lanett, Linda Childs of Valley, Mattie Banks and Christy Banks, both of Lanett; nephews Ronald Banks and Andre Banks, both of Roanoke and Joey Finley of Lanett, two sisters­-in-­law, Minnie Pearl Harris and Fannie L. Nelms, one brother­-in­law, Clarence Harris, all of Opelika, and a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
