VALLEY — Mrs. Nancy O’Neal Waites, 65, of Valley passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.  She was born on March 18, 1953, in Langdale.

Mrs. Waites is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Waites Sr.; her daughter, Lynn Scott and her children, Ryan (Janna) Collins and Katie (Trevor) Bass; her son, Charles Edward (Brandy Ledbetter) Waites, Jr. and his children, Colton Waites and Clyde Waites; her sister, Estelle (Bryan) LaPorte.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W.T. “Buddy” O’Neal, Sr. and Elzonia “Faye” O’Neal and her brother, W.T. O’Neal Jr.

Mrs. Waites enjoyed gardening.  She loved her family, her fur babies, Sam and Lucy, and especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 3 p.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-­Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Johnson Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. EDT until the service hour at the funeral home.
