Mr. Marshall James Hinson Sr. — 1966-2019

OPELIKA — Marshall James Hinson Sr., 52, passed on Thursday, April 4, 2019, in Opelika.
Marshall was born on August 26, 1966, in Augusta, Georgia. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served four years. After leaving the service, he painted residentially. He married Tammy Robinson in October of 1991. Together they had four children, Whitney (Marcellus) Sims, Marshall Jr., (Emily) Hinson, Corey (Kendra) Hinson and Sarah Huddleston. He continued residential and commercial painting until his unexpected death.
Marshall is preceded in death by his parents, Carlis Wendell Sr. and Janette Hinson, nephew Thomas Wright III, and Uncle Marshall “Buck” Freeman Hinson Sr. He is survived by his siblings, Linda (John) Ganus, Carlis “Buddy” Jr. (Susan) Hinson, Kathy (Danny) Williams, Missy Wellham, Bonnie (Patrick) Handley, Jenni (Keith) Bussey, Jessi Hinson and Cindy Hinson; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Marshall’s memorial will be held at First Baptist Church of Opelika on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at noon CDT.
