LANETT — A Cusseta man was arrested Thursday by the Lanett Police Department on a 14-count Chambers County Grand Jury indictment handed down in February, according to Lanett Patrol Commander Richard Casner.

William Delee, 34, was indicted on six counts of first-degree sodomy, three counts of first-degree sexual abuse, three counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years of age, one count of first-degree rape and one count of incest.

The indictment stemmed from a July 2018 arrest, also by Lanett Police. Casner said the incidents alleged in the indictment happened between June 2018 and July 2018. The alleged incidents occurred while the victim was under the age of 12 and ended after the victim’s twelfth birthday.

The indictment alleges that Delee engaged in sexual intercourse with a female by force. The indictment also alleges that on six occasions, he participated in deviate sexual behavior with a person younger than 16 years old but older than 12 years old.

Court documents also allege that on three occasions, Delee engaged in sexual contact with another person younger than 16 years old but older than 12 years old.

The three-count sexual abuse charge in the indictment alleges Delee subjected another person to sexual contact by force on three separate occasions. The indictment also alleges Delee engaged in sexual intercourse with a person he knew he was related to either by blood or adoption.

Delee was incarcerated in the Chambers County Jail on $750,000 bond total. As of Monday morning, he was no longer listed as a current inmate in the jail.
