Man airlifted after shooting in Lanett

A man was airlifted for treatment after suffering a gunshot wound Thursday in Lanett.
According to a LPD press release, officers responded to the 10 block of S.E. 14th Street at approximately 3:35 a.m. in reference to shots fired.
During the initial investigation, a white male with a gunshot wound was located in the area. Lanett EMS responded to the scene to provide initial assistance and the victim was airlifted to a hospital for further medical treatment, according to the press release. The offender was identified as a black male in his mid-40s, and he was wearing a white t-shirt and gray or black shorts at the time of the incident.
