Mrs. Jean Edwards

VALLEY — Mrs. Jean Edwards walked through the gates of heaven on May 2, 2019. For the past five years, she had resided in assisted living in Smithville, Tennessee. Prior to that she was a resident of Valley, where she had retired from WestPoint Home’s Fairfax Towel Operations.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by her six children, Susan (Gerald) Miles of Anderson, S.C., Thad (Sheril) Higgins of LaGrange, David Higgins of Lancaster, Tennessee, Sharon (Greg) Boozer of Belmont, North Carolina, Bruce (Karen) Higgins of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Alanna Marley of Schertz, Texas; her 13 grandchildren, Steven Marley, Rachel Nichols, Bethany Evans, Patrick Marley, William Miles, Lee Miles, Christina Claxton, Brian Boozer, Jason Higgins, Daniel Higgins, Ellen Higgins, Paul Higgins, and Seth Higgins; her 21 great grandchildren, Noah and Nathaniel Marley, Marley and Ella Nichols, Claire Evans, Holly Evans (due August 2019), Max and Heidi Marley, Abigail and Braydon Breedlove, William Higgins, Kenlee and Ridleigh Higgins, Will Miles, Ally Miles, Kameron Jimenez, Tyler Yeager, Isabella Claxton, Emma Claxton, Hunter Miles, and Madison Miles; her three great-great grandchildren, Liam Jimenez, Rhett Yeager, and Lakeland Miles, and her special friend and caregiver, Jane Mann Higgins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Ima Mobley; her husband, J.B. Edwards; a granddaughter, Jessica Boozer Breedlove, and her brother, Thomas Mobley.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 6, 2019, at noon EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment followed in Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett. The family received friends Monday morning from 10 a.m. EDT until the service hour at the funeral home.
