Mr. Wendell D. “Sonny” Willis, 71, of Valley and the Lake Harding Community, passed away on June 13 at the V. A. Medical Center in Birmingham. The family will receive friends at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley on Monday from 6 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. EDT. 

Mr. Willis is survived by his sons, Brian Willis (Anje) & Joel Willis (Tracy); sister, Sylvia Fullerton; brother, Randall Willis; five grandchildren, Brad Console (Cailin), Kathryn and Jacob Willis, Lauren and Elizabeth Willis and his pet dog of 14 years, Jojo.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Wendell H. and Frances Rainey Willis and his sister, Suellen Green.

He was born in West Point on August 18, 1947. He was a graduate of Beulah High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a firefighter for the Auburn Fire Department and worked for Willis Oil in Huguley.
