On Wednesday, the men of the Lanett Street Department were installing solar-powered crosswalk lights on North Lanier Avenue and its side streets.

The lights make it easier for motorists to see places where pedestrians might be crossing the street at night.

Some of these lights are already in place on North 15th Street near the Point Living Community.
