The Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce is building its staff behind new Executive Director Carrie Royster.

On Tuesday, Royster announced that the chamber has hired Brittany Simmons as the new administrative assistant.

“We are excited to have Brittany on board and looking to the future of GVACC,” Royster said in a news release from the chamber. “Brittany comes with previous chamber experience and I know she is going to do an amazing job.”

According to the news release, Simmons most recently served to the director of tourism for the LaGrange Troup County Chamber of Commerce, where she was the liaison to tourism partners throughout Troup County.

Simmons is a graduate from Southern Union State Community College and has completed the regional economic and leadership development program though the Georgia Academy of Economic Development. She is also a recent graduate of the Leadership Troup program of Troup County.

Simmons is a Lanett native and is married to Kenneth Simmons and has two daughters, Kenadi and Katelyn.
