Mr. Ocie Lee Pitts “Pookey,” 72, of LaFayette, passed away on Aug. 11 at Roanoke Healthcare Center in Roanoke.

Funeral services will be held on Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. CDT at Chosen Generation Worship Center in LaFayette, Apostle Willie Eva Hicks, Pastor, Eulogist; the Rev. Derrick Vines, officiating. Burial will follow in Handy Memorial Cemetery in LaFayette.

Mr. Pitts is survived by his life long companion, Carrie Jones; three sons, Otis Pitts (April), of Roanoke, Tony Pitts and Anthony Pitts (Valerie), both of Miami, Florida; two brothers, Willie C. Pitts (Shirley) of Miami, Florida, and James Pitts, of Roanoke; four sisters, Helen Pitts, Annie Burton and Sara Lee Pitts, all of LaFayette, and Dorothy Vines (Ronald), of Auburn; 28 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
