Troup County has started a program that recognizes county employees for their hard work.

The new program is called The Strongest Link and will recognize one employee each month who has demonstrated excellent performance in productivity, loyalty and professional pride.

Each day employees in the county work behind the scenes to run the court system, oversee road maintenance, communicate with taxpayers and other jobs that we typically take for granted.

There are countless man hours involved in making sure the county runs smoothly that we do not see on a day to day basis.

This award recognizes that all county employees are linked together.

The employees that get recognized for the award are nominated by other county employees, and a volunteer committee will select the recipient from those nominations.

It’s important to give recognition where it is due and show employees that their hard work is not going unnoticed.

All of us like to know that the work we are doing is appreciated, and this award — along with the goodies from local businesses — helps remind county employees of the importance of what they do.
