Beulah suffers first loss at Montgomery Academy

When Chris Person scored from 13 yards out in the first quarter, it looked like Beulah might be off to the races.
However, Montgomery Academy scored the game’s next 43 points and beat the Bobcats 46-18 on Friday night. The defeat was Beulah’s (2-1) first loss of the year.
Quay Moreland scored on a 1-yard touchdown and Sondreikus Cooper scored on a 54-yard run for Beulah, but both scores came late in the fourth quarter after the game was already decided.
Cooper led the Bobcats with 66 yards on the night.Beulah junior quarterback Kaleb Abney completed 6-of-13 passes for 30 yards.
After trailing 6-3 after the first quarter, Montgomery Academy scored four touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 32-6 lead into the half.
The Eagles (2-1) host St. James next week. Beulah will play at Prattville Christian.
