On Wednesday, officers were called to the Alabama Power substation at about 8 a.m. after employees were checking the fence line and discovered a possible dead body behind their building.

At the time, police said they found no identification found on the man, and there were no obvious signs of trauma that could explain the cause of death. Valley Police Major Mike Reynolds said Friday morning that police are awaiting autopsy results from the medical examiner’s office in Montgomery.

Also, as of Friday morning, police are still treating this case as a death investigation.

A news release from the Valley Police Department asked for the public’s help in determining McClendon’s whereabouts prior to his death. Reynolds said officers are trying to put together a timeline to figure out why he was in the area.

Anybody with any information concerning McClendon is encouraged to call the police at (334)-756-5200 or the Valley Area Crime Stoppers at (334) 756-8200.
