Ms. Janice Billings AKA Henderson — 1958-2019

Ms. Janice Billings AKA Henderson, 61, of West Point, transitioned to her heavenly home on Sept. 13 at Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange. Ms. Billings was born March 6, 1958, to the parentage of the late Willie Joe Henderson and Nellie Mae Wallace in Troup County.

Janice was a product of the West Point Public School System. She enjoyed listening to blues and dancing. Janice was the life of a party.

She was predeceased in death by a son, Terrell “Shawn” Henderson; her siblings, Leroy Wallace, Jr. and Virginia Wallace; and her step-father, Leroy Wallace, Sr.

Janice leaves to cherish her memories a loving daughter, Christy LaGail Henderson, of Auburn; two granddaughters, Mequonisha Hall and Ariyana Hall, of Auburn; one great-grandson; five loving and devoted sisters, Marjorie Thompson Henderson, of Greenville, Georgia, Maggie Billingslea, Barbara Billingslea, Ruby Dowell and Margaret Wallace, of West Point; four special nieces, Angela Green, of LaGrange, Keyonda Polen, of West Point, Shanicious Cooper, of Atlanta and Pamela Brown, of Charleston, South Carolina; two special nephews, Gus Davidson, of Lanett, and John Douglas Timmons, of Chicago; a special companion of 35 years, Henry Booker; special friend/sister, Lisa Buckner; God-Brother, Walter Beavers; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends. 

Homegoing service for Ms. Billings will be held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 20, from the Bethlehem Baptist Church in West Point, with Dr. W.T. Edmonson, Pastor, Overseer G. L. Fanning, Eulogist, the Rev. Charles Trammell, Minister Gwenorris Booker and the Rev. Jerome Spence, assisting. Interment will follow in Marseilles Cemetery.
