Ms. Mary Alice Lumpkin

Ms. Mary Alice Lumpkin, 64, of Lanett, passed away on Sept. 14 at her residence. 

Ms. Lumpkin was born in Langdale to the late Glen Edmond Eldridge Lumpkin and Sara Belle Smith Lumpkin. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Leroy Lumpkin, Eva Mae Slay, Archie Lumpkin, Margaret Tyson, Eldridge Lumpkin and Jasper Lumpkin. 

Ms. Lumpkin was affectionately known to her family as “Mae Mae.” She was a very competitive person and loved to play bingo, card games and video games with her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. “Mae Mae” was the family authority on all things.

She is survived by her siblings, Sheila Lumpkin, Duvard (Terri) Lumpkin, and Betty Jean (Jerry) Hunt; a host of nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and extended family members. 

Services will be held on Sept. 21 at 11 a.m.  EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. EDT until the service hour. Interment will be private.
