Chambers Academy volleyball advances to third-consecutive Final Four

MONTGOMERY — Chambers Academy swept Meadowview in straight sets on Monday afternoon 25-23, 25-8, 25-13 in the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl to advance to the AISA Class A state semifinal.
The Rebels will face Cornerstone on Thursday at 1 p.m. EDT in Montgomery.
This is the third-consecutive season that Chambers has advanced to the state semifinal. In 2018, the Rebels lost to Eastwood 11-25, 17-25, 19-25 in the round.
Many players on Chambers Academy’s varsity roster were members of last season’s JV state championship team that featured Bailey Allen, Claire Allen and Chloe Mitcham. The roster also features senior libero Audra Slay.
The team is coached by first-year head man Randy Bonds, with longtime assistant coach Kim Slay on the staff.
