Mr. Milfred L. Williams — 1925-2019

Mr. Milfred L. Williams, 94, of Valley, passed away on Oct. 13 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. 

He was born in Chambers County on June 16, 1925, to the late David Homer Williams and Rosa Land Williams. 

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a son, Denny Williams; his first wife, June Hill Williams; his twin sister, Mildred Paschal; sister, Frances Shipman Williams.

He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Valley. 

Mr. Williams was a proud veteran of World War II, which he served with the United States Army. 

He had 20 years of service with the West Point Pepperell company, where he worked at the Service Center.  

He is survived by his wife, Jean Williams, of Opelika; children, Ronnie (JoAnn) Williams, of Valley, Paula (Butch) Nichols, of Valley, Bobby (Cindy) Williams, of Opelika; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held on Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. EDT at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with interment following in Fairfax Cemetery. Dr. Darren White and the Rev. Ron Williams officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley on Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. EDT until 8 p.m. EDT. 

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Valley.
