Betty Daniel Hazel, 86, of Birmingham, passed away on Oct. 19. She was born Jan. 14, 1933, in Langdale to Roy C. Daniel and Effie Kate Pitts Daniel.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, the Rev. Charles Hazel, Sr. She is survived by two children, Charles Hazel Jr (Vicki) and Angie HazelMilner (Bruce); four grandchildren, Charles (Chuck) Rudd (Kelli), Matthew Milner, Angela Sciascia (Jeff) and Rachel Mattioli (Brian); six great-grandchildren; sisters, Sarah Daniel Williams and Mary Daniel Wickham; and a brother, James Daniel.

Betty served as a devoted Methodist minister’s wife of the North Alabama Conference for 45 years. She also worked at Jefferson State Community College in the Registrars office for 15 years.

There will be a family-only funeral and burial. A Memorial Service will be held Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. at Huffman United Methodist Church in Birmingham.
