VALLEY — The Valley Lions Club will have its annual chickencue fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Bob Harding-Shawmut Elementary School in Valley.
Tickets are $8 per plate, and proceeds will be going to the club’s continuing efforts to help with sight preservation, both locally and worldwide.
Tickets can be purchased from any member of the club. A limited number of drive-up plates will be available on the day of the chickencue.
Pickups will be in front of the school from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. EDT. Mops and brooms will also be on sale.
The local club has about 30 members, some of whom have been with the club for many years. Lions International has been a service organization for more than 100 years. An international, secular, nonpolitical organization, it was founded by Melvin Jones in Chicago in 1917.
