Mr. John Lee Stafford

John Lee Stafford, the son of the late Mr. Osborn Stafford and Eva Lee Jackson Stafford, was born in Troup County, Georgia on Nov. 26, 1955. He answered our Heavenly Father’s call and entered God’s eternal kingdom on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia surrounded by his loved ones.

John joined Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. W.T. Edmondson.

He was a product of West Point High School, graduating Class of 1974.

John was employed by the West Point Housing Authority with over 25 years of service as a maintenance technician until failing health.

 Everyone will remember John as a humble, strong, loving, caring person. He was a devoted father, brother, uncle, nephew, worker and friend. His belief in God was shown through his dedication to helping others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Johnathan McCullough; brothers Arthur, Tony, Willie, and James Stafford; brother-in-law Walter Cherry.

John leaves behind a very strong legacy to cherish his memories three sons Donquincy Spence, Huntsville, Gary Spence, Willard, WV and Quinton Spence, Columbus, Georgia; devoted companion  Jackie Spence, West Point, Georgia; his loving nine sisters, Janice Cherry, Lavone Dawson, Geneva, Carrie, Katherine, Mary, Katie Stafford, Evelyn Stafford (Walter) Dunn West Point, Georgia; Wanda (David) Bradberry of Collins, Georgia; one brother, his twin, Jessie Stafford, Columbus, Georgia; three aunts Rose Devance, Mary Evans and Ruby Jackson, Lanett; god sister Gwendolyn (Wanye) Jones, West Point, Georgia; one god brother William Cumberlander, West Point, Georgia; host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends

A homegoing celebration for Mr. Stafford will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Dr. W. T. Edmondson, Pastor, Eulogist, and Rev. Jerome Spence and the Rev. Michael Stiggers, assisting. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, West Point.

The remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.

The family is receiving guest at 1105 B, Avenue L, West Point, and at the residence of Ms. Carrie Stafford, 907 E. 9 th Street, West Point, Georgia 31833
