The Alabama Sports Writers Association announced its all-state teams, and Chambers County was well represented.

Overall, 11 players from Chambers County were selected. 1A state champion Lanett led the way with five players. Chambers Academy finished with four, while LaFayette and Springwood each had one selection.

Lanett’s defensive lineman Eric McCants, defensive back Kaderius Zackery, athlete Kristian Story, Chambers Academy offensive lineman Jake Waldrop and LaFayette punter Antavious Woody were named to the first-team in their classifications.

Chambers Academy quarterback Payton Allen, defensive lineman Dijon Darden, linebacker Braxton Allen, Springwood athlete O.J. Tolbert and Lanett linebacker Tray Abner were the area’s second-team selections.
